Waiting on Wednesday – Week 67

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It's to spotlight on upcoming books which I'm DYING to get my hands on.

This week's WoW is:
Ironskin by Tina Connolly

Jane Eliot wears an iron mask.

It’s the only way to contain the fey curse that scars her cheek. The Great War is five years gone, but its scattered victims remain—the ironskin.

When a carefully worded listing appears for a governess to assist with a "delicate situation"—a child born during the Great War—Jane is certain the child is fey-cursed, and that she can help.

Teaching the unruly Dorie to suppress her curse is hard enough; she certainly didn’t expect to fall for the girl’s father, the enigmatic artist Edward Rochart. But her blossoming crush is stifled by her own scars, and by his parade of women. Ugly women, who enter his closed studio...and come out as beautiful as the fey.

Jane knows Rochart cannot love her, just as she knows that she must wear iron for the rest of her life. But what if neither of these things is true? Step by step Jane unlocks the secrets of her new life—and discovers just how far she will go to become whole again.

I cannot WAIT to start reading this one. I was lucky enough to get an eGalley and it's waiting oh-so deliciously for me. Too bad, I've got other books before I can get to this one, but hopefully and just maybe I'll squish it up to the tippy-top of my TBR pile :)

What are you waiting on?

  2. I think this could be really cool but could also be a big mess depending on how the many elements are tied together by the author...I'm waiting on some reviews!

  3. I recently read this one and wasn't too impressed by it, but I'm such a huge Jane Eyre fan which is why I had trouble with this rendition of it. Still, I think you'll really like it and the cover is beautiful! I can't wait to see what you think of it when it releases!(:
